Amara resistance

At the fronton in the neigbourhood Amara in Donostia / San Sebastián, a mural with the date 2014-7-30 commemorates the local defence force during the Spanish Civil War. The text reads 1936tik Amarako erresistentziak zutik dirau, bihotzean daramagulako mundu berri bat, meaning something like ‘from 1936 the resistance of Amara has been standing, since we carry a new world in our hearts’.

Just a few weeks ago, there was a memorial ceremony at the spot, which this Basque news article reports about.
