The future of Basque murals

Earlier, we’ve covered the prehistory of Basque murals, but how does its future look? Very bright, judging from this crayon artwork created by three-year-olds from a kindergarten in Zarautz:

The statue they’ve improved is called Bertsolaritzari omenaldia and was made in 1999 by Jorge Oteiza, earlier featured on this blog. The name of the statue means ‘homage to bertsolaritza‘, with bertsolaritza being an improvised form of singing. In this Youtube clip, Maialen Lujanbio Zugasti performs a bertso with English subtitles.
